- Non warranty RMA support shall be provided for 5 years after the EOS date
- Last day of support and parts availability, for non-recertification items is 5 years after the EOS date
Operational
The MMU216EIP-LSU platform extended the NEMA TS2 signal monitor standard by adding the ability to measure current draw from connected load outputs. This allowed agencies to detect lamp outages and load anomalies that conventional voltage-based monitoring cannot identify. However, this capability requires installation of the separate LSU accessory, adding wiring complexity and cabinet space requirements that have limited adoption in the field.
The ATC 5301 v02.02 standard incorporates native load-current monitoring as a core feature, eliminating the need for external accessories. As ATC-compliant infrastructure becomes the prevailing standard, the case for the legacy LSU-augmented NEMA TS2 platform has diminished. Synapse ITS is therefore ending production of the MMU-16EIP-LSU and its companion LSU.
Remaining inventory will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until supply is exhausted.
Corrective Action
For agencies requiring load-current monitoring capability, we recommend transitioning to the following ATC-standard monitor, which provides this functionality natively without additional accessories or complex field wiring:
- CMUip-2212: ATC 5301 v02.02 Conflict Monitor Unit with Ethernet and integrated load-current monitoring. Eliminates the need for an external LSU and simplifies installation while providing full compliance with the current cabinet standard.
