MMU2 Program Card Memory Chip Service Bulletin

Product: All MMU2 SmartMonitors

Release Date: October 20, 2022

Scope: This bulletin applies to all MMU2 SmartMonitor programmed with firmware versions prior to xx.75 and older. PCB G,H,J

Issue: We are using a new memory chip on the program card. For all existing monitors we need to update the existing version of firmware so the memory chip will work with the older monitors. All previous cards will work with this version making them backwards compatible.

Identification: When the MMU2 SmartMonitor is powered on, to find the firmware version number go to “Menu”, “Set/View Config” and “Firmware Version”. Any version prior to r7.4 need to be updated so that the monitors can read the new program card.

Root Cause: The memory chip was not available, so we are using a new memory chip for the monitor. The new firmware will be able to communicate with both the new memory chip and the old one.

Operational: When the program card memory is activated on the monitor, if you the monitor displays “DIAG:pgmcrd mem gone” indicate that there is a mismatch on the memory card and the monitor software version.

Corrective Action: Install the updated version of firmware to the monitor.

A factory firmware update is required for failed units.
