[EDI] How do I save data files from the 2018KCLip signal monitor using MonitorKey?

This article discusses downloading data files from your 2018KCLip signal monitor to your PC using MonitorKey.

This video demonstrates how to read a configuration from a 2018KCLiP monitor key, save it to a computer, and write it back to the key when needed.

  1. Connect the monitor key
    1. Remove the key from the monitor and insert it into the key box.
    2. Open the software and verify the target is a 2018KCLiP, communication is active on Port 7, and the key is detected.
  2. Read the key
    1. Select Read to transfer the configuration from the key into the software.
    2. Wait for the confirmation that the read completed successfully.
    3. Open the configuration view to review the loaded settings.
  3. Save the configuration to your computer
    1. Select File → Save Key As.
    2. Choose a memorable folder and enter a filename.
    3. Confirm the save location so you can find the file later.
  4. Reopen a saved configuration
    1. Use Open File to browse to the saved configuration and load it back into the software.
  5. Write the configuration back to the key
    1. Select Write to transfer the saved configuration onto the key.
    2. Once writing completes, select Verify to check the result.
    3. The example shows zero errors and zero warnings as the desired outcome.

Save a backup of the 2018KCLiP configuration before making changes, use clear filenames and folders, and verify every write before putting the key back into service.
